FAITH IN ACTION
OSLC Volunteers gather to serve our neighbors on the 3rd Saturday of March, May and September.
How to Use Faith In Action
- Get to know your neighbors wherever you live, work and play.
- Learn their stories, discover their needs, and offer to help.
- Recommend your project online. It is the best way to recommend a project because it captures important information.
- Plan ahead. It takes time to find a project leader and secure materials for the job.
FAITH IN ACTION TEAM INFO
COMMUNITY Projects
Teams tackle projects for those who lack the means, ability or know how. Projects May Include: Church Campus Cleanup, Ministry Partner Projects, Basic Yard Work, Community Space Cleanup, VBS Prep, Accessibility Ramps and Handrails.
OSLC CAR SHOP
Transportation is an essential part of economic stability. The OSLC Car Shop seek to alleviate some of the costs of maintaining a vehicle. Our certified mechanics oversee volunteers who complete minor repairs and oil changes.
Backpacks 4 Kids
Each week during the school year, we serve over 500 local students through our Backpacks 4 Kids program. During Faith in Action, we pack 800 breakfast bags in support of this program.
Meal Ministry
We prepare freezer meals for members of our OSLC family. These meals provide support and encouragement during significant life events.
All volunteer leaders are required to submit a Volunteer Application and be appropriately screened and trained before serving in any volunteer capacity at OSLC.
The Participation Form is our main source of information, medical release, photo release and authorizations for children, youth, and adults to participate in activities or events with OSLC.
