LEGACY GIVING

As followers of Christ, we know that the people in our lives and the resources we have are not ours; they’re on loan to us from a loving God. As stewards, estate planning is for all, regardless of age or income. Our hope is that this page will be a resource for you whether you want to get help with planning or do it on your own; whether you include OSLC or not. Our faith is the gift of God, and we know that His Kingdom will go on forever. If you’re interested in leaving a legacy, find out how to grow God’s kingdom by endowing the work of His church.

OSLC has people who can help you get started; they’re the Legacy Committee. The committee members are Joe Newman, Sue Bratz, Klaus Snyder and Jeff & Paula Pielak. Please feel free to contact them with questions or for more information.

If it is important to you to continue God’s work through the body of Christ here at OSLC, we’ve set up an endowment fund. Check out our brochure or contact Sue Bratz for more information.

About Legacy Giving

As members of the family of Christ, we share a deep gratitude for what God has done for us through Christ. Because of legacy generosity in the past, we are able to share the message of Jesus with our community and with the world today. We invite you to join those who have made a gift that lives beyond the donor’s lifetime.
Planned giving is not just for those with great wealth or for older people. Its benefits are available to anyone with a generous spirit. Sometimes a legacy gift can be a simple cash donation. Other times it may involve a coordinated effort with two of more of the following people:

  • Attorney
  • Tax Accountant
  • Financial Planner
  • Gift Planner

Why Consider a Legacy Gift?

Sharing our faith and our gifts ensures that coming generations can respond to Christ’s calling in our church, community, and the world. Your gift will enrich the lives of others in countless ways and will bring a personal sense of joy and fulfillment to your heart. There are many options to choose from when you are considering a planned gift. Planned gifts may provide a number of financial benefits to the donor including increased lifetime income, tax savings, reduced capital gains and estate taxes, and release from financial management.

Benefits of an Estate Plan

Christian estate planning involves extending your faith and desires through charitable bequest even after you are gone. Proper planning can reduce estate taxes, leaving more money for family members and gifting.

You can name Our Savior Lutheran Church in your will, trust or beneficiary designations. You can also make lifetime donations at any time. Gifts can be open ended or directed to specific funds.
